KOKILAVAN DHAM is a temple of SHANI bhagwan has a great importance in the history of religious city MATHURA .Large no.devotees from all parts of INDIA came here every Saturday especially and believe that KOKILAVAN DHAM temple is powerful and protect them from the transit of Shani and Shani mahadasha.

HISTORY OF SHANI DEVA

Surya and chhaya are the parents of Shani so he is also known as CHHAYAPUTRA. Shani and Yama the god of death are the brothers. The word shani also represent navgraha Saturn and seventh day Saturday .Saturn is a slow mover and complete a round of earth in 30 days.

Shani Dev temple or Kokilavan dham is located 10 km away from kosi kalan ,55 km away from Mathura and 110 km away from Delhi. Kokilavan is the place where Lord Krishna gave darshan to Shani Deva.Kokilavan is named because it is believed that at this place Lord Krishna appeared as koyal to gopies.
