Uttar Pradesh became National Under -19 champions of 50 Over tournament

This article is about Vinu Mankad trophy Under-19 which is the BCCI's National championship including all the states, Railway and Services teams. Uttar Pradesh wins this tournament after seven years. let,s have a look at the performance of our young UP boys through this short post.

It was the finals of BCCI's domestic youth One day competetion known as Vinu Mankad Trophy.Uttar Pradesh dominated the league tables with some rocking victories They stood 1st in group in central zone league table with 3 victories out of 4 matches. In semi finals they defeated mighty mumbai team and since then they started dreaming about the trophy. Finally the day came and UP boys were ready to go. The Gangotri glades cricket ground at Karnatka Cricket association was all set and waiting for this breathtaking finals. Madhya Pradesh captain Shubham Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. UP openers Asish Singh and Rakshan faraz looked in good touch and put on a good opening partenership of 77 runs from 17.1 overs. But then UP got double blow as Asish Singh and Faiz Ahmed was dismissed in quick sessions. Faiz Ahmed scored 6 and was dismissed by Aditya Srivastav. Asish Singh Scored 34 of 48 balls . But then came in UP captain Akshdeep Nath who is having a good 2011-12 season so far. he carried his good form through and kept on murdering the bowlers. Akshdeep and Rakshan Faraz together put on a huge partenership of 151 runs in just 23 overs. Rakshan Faraz scored a brilliant century. Rakshan Faraz scored 105 runs of 145 balls while Captain Akshdeep was quicker as he scored 88 runs of just 67 balls. Some quick runs from Munish Beri and Saurabh Kumar in the last 3 overs took UP to a huge total of 288 for 8 wickets after 50 overs. Mayank Jain of Madhya Pradesh took 2 wickets from his 10 overs while Yash Rawat took 3 from 7 overs. In reply Madhya Pradesh lost their openers early as Ankit Singh Rajpoot struck in his very second over. Idrish got Raghav out soon after that and MP was in big trouble. But then Captain Subham Sharma and Avnish Dhaliwal shown some resistent. These two added 91 runs but then Kuldeep Yadav struck as he got Avnish out , stumped by wicketkeeper Kundan Singh. After that none of the MP batsman were able to reach 20 run mark. Captain Shubham shown some guts but there was noone on the other end who could make a big partenership with him. at the end Idrish knocked down the stumps of Shubham and MP were allout for 244 and hence UP won the Vinu Mankad trophy after 7 years. Idrish and Saurav Kumar took 2 wickets each while Ankit Rajpoot and Kuldeep yadav took one wickets.
