This post is about the first match of Uttar Pradesh under-22. Uttar Pradesh drew with Saurastra where Uttar Pradesh under-22 achieved 4 points on the basis of first inning lead. Some of the UP boys did well in the match and some disappointed. Here is a brief news of the match
Uttar Pradesh Under-22 won the toss at Rajkot and decided to bat first. Openers Mukul Dagar and Digvijay Singh given great start to their team. Mukul Dagar unfortunately missed his half century and got out for 49 of 104 balls smashing 5 boundries. But on the other hand Digvijay Singh who is seeking oppertunity in Ranji team , played extremly well and scored 251 runs of 433 balls which included 21 fours and 2 big sixes. The other star with the bat was Umang Sharma who also scored a brilliant ton. Umang scored 152 runs of 309 balls which included 13 fours and a six. Uttar Pradesh declared after 175 overs. They scored a big total of 544 for the loss of 8 wickets. then Uttar Pradesh bowlers restricted Saurastra to 384. Hari Somiya of Saurastra scored 118 runs. Abhisekh Tripathi and Rahul kashyap took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Uttar Pradesh achieved 4 points on the basis of first inning lead. Saurastra were invited to play follow on and the the last day ended with Saurastra were 4 for 103 in 41 overs. Rahul Kashyap again took 4 wickets.
