35 Lakhs new voters for 2012 UP Vidhan Sabha Elections

Last year the total number of persons who were eligible to vote in elections in Uttar Pradesh was 108,432,526. However this number has now reached 111,916,689. This increase in number of new voters is due to rise of awareness among the young people of Uttar Pradesh. You can still add your name in the voters' list if you are 18 years' of age or will be turning 18 on or before 1st January 2012. According to Election commission "All those people who would turn 18 between now and Jan 1, 2012, would be entitled to getting themselves registered with the Election Commission".
