Uttar Pradesh Premier League (UPPL) has organised the first ever T20 cricket championship in Uttar Pradesh to give the chance to all the cricketing talents. T20 cricket championship is starting in Uttar Pradesh from January 10.

Uttar Pradesh Premier League (UPPL) will be organised in eight selected cities of Uttar Pradesh: Aligarh, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut and Varanasi. The opening match will be played at Green Park stadium, Kanpur.

Director of UPPL V.P.Singh said that this championship will let the young players get a platform to show their talent. Three days trial campus will be held in each selected cities and overall 16 qualifying players from each district will be selected. Rs. 2 lac prize money of UPPL will be given to the winner of UPPL, and the runner up of UPPL will get Rs. 1 Lakh. Beside this there is also prize of UPPL man of the series and UPPL man of the match which would would be awarded as Rs.50,000 and Rs.5,000 respectively.
