History of Agra Fort, Agra, Uttar Pradesh

Agra Fort is situated in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Agra Fort is on the river bank of Yamuna. Agra fort was constructed by the Mogul Emperor Akbar.
Sikandar Lodi was the first Mogul Emperor who came from Delhi to Agra. Sikander Lodi use to stay in this Fort. After death of Sikander Lodi his son Ibrahim Lodi uses to stay in Agra Fort. Ibrahim Lodi stayed here for 9 years. Ibrahim Lodi was killed in Battle of Panipat in year 1526.

Humayun captured Agra fort. Humayun was the son of Babur.
Humayun had taken all the treasure from this Agra Fort. Humayun had taken world famous Diamond "Kohinoor" also.
Humayun was defeated in the Battle of Bilgram against Sher Shah in year 1540.

Sher Shah captured Agra fort. Akbar comes back in Agra Fort in year 1558 and ordered to change the stones of Agra fort into Red Sandstone.
