Exfoliating Your Skin: Try These Home-Prepared Body Scrubs

Exfoliation is the process everybody likes to indulge these days. It is removing the dead skin cells by washing and rubbing the skin with a granular material. Some of the most common exfoliating ingredients may include ground nuts, crystals, and sugar. Preparing a body scrub at your home by using granulated organic sugar as the exfoliating agent sounds quite exciting. Let's try preparing some body scrubs using this agent.

Lemon facial scrub will be a good choice for the face. Take a teaspoonful of sugar with one third to half that amount of organic lemon juice. The lemon juice should be enough to wet the sugar. You need to smear the ingredient on a clean dry skin and apply tenderly over the face. Leave it on the skin for about ten minutes and ultimately it will create a mask by drying. You should avoid the areas around the eyes while applying. The skin will be smooth and moist after applying the ingredients.

The next is the shower and bath scrubs which will require a larger amount of sugar. You can use the same lemon facial scrub if you want but with essential oils and different fragrances will be altogether different. Choosing different fragrances at different time of the day while using scrub will be good. Like the earlier scrub add just enough oil to dampen the sugar. Be careful while using the scrub in and around the bath as it will be greasy and you may skid. While using the scrub wash yourself as you normally do and apply it in such a way that it covers all your body. Get yourself dry and you will feel the difference. In the morning citrus is a good choice. Lime, orange, grapefruit and orange are the ideal scents. Blending the citrus with vanilla essential oil will soften the fragrance.

For night scrubs lavender is the most traditional and is a good choice. Vanilla is good as it has a pleasant smell along with anti-depressant qualities. A nice blend is that of vanilla and almond in random.

While scrubbing the sugar helps in eliminating dry skin the moisturizing part is offered by the essential oils. A blend of grape oil and sugar generally works.
