A brief on the causes, symptoms and remedies for skin rashes

Common rashes also known as dermatitis, means inflammation of the skin. When rashes occur, the color and the texture of the skin also changes. Rubor and Erythema are the other name of common rashes. Clear skin is free from germs but an irritated skin is lots of trouble. Abrasion occurs in the skin where two moist areas meet, such as the buttocks, under arms and groins. Itchy skin is irritating but it is worse when we scratch it. Medically it is also known as prorates and it is caused by various factors. The causes of itchy skin rashes are different according to the types of rashes and include fungal, viral infections or when the skin comes into contact with a plant like poison oak, ivy, or sumac, bacteria, allergic reactions to food or medicine, or genetics.
These days skin rashes are very common which are mainly due to the use of many new fabrics. Some rashes affect the whole body while some affects some specific parts. Fabrics are one of the reasons for the occurrence of rashes in babies. Itching, tingling, burning, pain, inflammation and sometimes surprisingly with no discomfort at all could be the possible symptoms of common rashes. Sometimes rashes might be accompanied by fever.
Oatmeal bath and applying olive oil to the rash could give some help. Aloe Vera gel, cod liver oil and Vitamin E oil are also helpful in dealing with rashes. Applying baking powder on the infected area is advisable. Aloe vera has anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and anti fungal properties and helps in healing of wounds and other minor skin irritations such as itchiness and rashes. Chamomile Essential Oil is another important product against rashes. It is also used in treating eczema, psoriasis and sunburn. Witch hazel acts as an astringent that helps in relieving itching and other minor skin inflammation.

There are various natural alternatives for treating rashes like cortisone cream treatment. Cortisone is mostly used to alleviate inflammation, swelling, burning and itching which is often associated with rashes. Ledum palustre treatment is applicable to puffy and swollen rash. A good treatment for skin rashes and itches is by applying turmeric. It is dried and then ground to make a powder and freshly made powder is always preferred. Applying eucalyptus oil on the affected area of the skin can also be helpful.
