RTI Act not being implemented in letter and spirit in Uttar Pradesh

One of the very potent instruments which a common man in India can boast of is Right to Information. It has been exercised by many and has brought desired results, barring a few examples of its misuse or overuse. But it is a matter of great concern that the State Information Commission in Uttar Pradeh is reluctant to pass on information on certain issues specially relating to funds released by the Centre or its permanent staff. As reported in the Times of India the Commission has not provided information about its own functioning to a RTI activist.

    Hello Sukhdev sir,

Though I don't have any personal experience with right to information but it is rightly said by you that RTI is one of the biggest powers in the hands of common man. But in certain cases that is not implemented correctly. People need to be more aware about their rights and duties.
