Congratulations to Team India on being crowned the new world number in Test Cricket. It is a result of years of hard work and collective effort. And Test Cricket being considered as the most complete form of cricket, being No. 1 gives a true sense a pride. And India reached the summit in style, twice defeating the Sri Lankans by huge margins.
In the last few years, the approach of the Indians in all forms of the game has undergone a change. They have been more aggressive and positive and confident. The change is even more noticeable in Test cricket. When in deep trouble, they could fight hard for a draw and when they are at an advantageous situation they go for the kill. The aggressiveness can also be established from the fact that innings averages have gone up considerably. Team India no longer walks the safer middle path and are not afraid to go all out at their opponents. This is why the winning average has also gone up. And this is why they are the No. 1 Test Team in the world.
